The only person that gets any credit in this project (besides the cientific team) is artist Peter Coffin. He was born in 1972 on Berkeley, California. He is now based in New York City. Coffin received his undergraduate degree from the University of California at Davis in 1995, subsequently attending Carnegie Mellon University and receiving an MFA in 2000. His work is exhibited internationally and features in several permanent collections.
The concept of Music Interpreted by the Brain
In a sound proof chamber the waves of the brain were recorded while listening of a series of pieces. Through an electroencephalogram waves forms were converted into audible sound waves by Gareth Spor (a psychologist).
The project took place at the California Berkley Neurophysiology Laboratory.
Among the songs that were "interpeted by the brain" they are pieces by Robert Johnson, N.W.A., Bach, Michael Jackson and Miles Davis.

Not an easy listening work but indeed a tremendous experience.
