Submitting your material

You can help the mastering process enormously if you keep a few things in mind.

Please take care of the following.
1. Do NOT push your mix to the LIMIT

Sometimes, especially with dance music I receive tracks that are already limited and compressed. Please do not do this before handing your tracks over because I need this headroom to work with dynamics. More still: sometimes the soundcolor has been squashed so extremely that there is no way that I can enhance it. It’s become a sort of sound goo. If you want your tracks to become very loud then please let me do that for you.

There is no problem with a mixed track where the loudest volume is still -3dB”s.

2. keep your tracks in a HIGH BITRATE

If you have been recording and mixing your tracks in 24bit or even 32bit, please keep the mixes also in that bitrate. The higher that is the better the dynamics of the sound will remain. I have professional state of the art converters that will take great care when mastering your music.

3. Make NOTES about tracks

When there are certain particularities in the tracks that I need to take into account, then please let me know. E.g. sometimes a track is intentionally less loud than others. And sometimes sounds that might seem like flaws are part of the creative concept.

4. Please give INFORMATION about:

- the number of tracks

- the total amount of time of your product

- the end product (vinyl or cd or online)

- artist name, album name and track names
